Superman shrooms?

I recently got this mushroom rock and I'm curious as to what the mushrooms are called and if they are common. I thought they were called superman shrooms, but then I read that superman shrooms tend to be red with blue "warts" instead of blue with red. Also I read that the ones I have might be called "reverse superman", and is a rarer color. I'm also curious what the species is. Anybody else have these? Maybe some store owners can give some insight about these mushrooms.

I tried taking pics under different lighting conditions (all power compact, but combinations of daylights and actinics on and off). But of course, the true colors are better than any of the pics. The red is orangish, the blue is a bright but deep blue color with some purpleish spots, and one is green tinted around the edges. All are CiPP's.

(pics edited in so I don't accidently lose the text by leaving the page while I'm copying links)

Only took me 5 minutes to snap and upload these pics, and another 5 to copy the links. I love photobucket app for iphone. pics were taken using the regular camera app for iphone so they are not edited or adjusted any way besides the "point and click" brightness adjuster.

I found something similar on one website just now so I am pretty sure it is a Rhodactis sp.

Here, I found an image that actually shows (somewhat) what I mean about the green color in the blue.
(this is not my picture)

Edit: Okay, yeah, I figured out what they are. I just wasn't searching for the right thing. It's a red and blue rhodactis, sometimes called a superman or a red and blue bullseye. I have no idea how common they are though. Maybe a store owner who is familiar with them can chime in

I have a few of those. I was told they were red and blue bullseye when I got them. I'd take some pics but the lights are already off. I'm not sure how common they are though. I'd never seen them before I got them

I'm almost certain that they are a species of Rhodactis. I've heard a few names being tossed around for them, but I like the title of Spiderman's, lol. Bullseye's don't have the fuzzy dots, instead, they are more of a solid base color, with dashes and dots of a second color radiating towards the center. Though, I'm not very knowledgeable about common names, or trade names, so don't quote me on them :p

Rit, I was hoping to hear from you. Can you confirm that they are rhodactis? I don't know if you would be interested in a trade down the road. I don't know how fast they spread, or if it would be worth it for you.

I'll let you know when I have a couple extra. If I had them now, I'd be trading for snails! BTW I see that you are having an invert sale. Might have to jump on that. I need a CUC for my biocube like yesterday. Maybe you will put together a special pack for me to pick up wednesday. Just shoot me a pm if you'd like to compete for my business :). I'd sure like to give it to you! Besides, I don't know how I feel about mailing snails. Dead snails stink.

Edit: this wednesday**

You have some time. If I don't hear from you by wednesday I'll let you know

That's the problem with "designer" names. One vendor calls them this, another calls them that.

Yep, they're a variety of Rhodactis, one of many.

Nice ones, I've had some from time to time, and they're popular, and very pretty. They do seem to grow a bit faster than some other desirable variants of Rhodactis.

I'll post up some pics of my Oranges later. And I disagree with Rit in how they grow. Mine has gone from 5 heads to over 30 heads in about a year.

I have the same kind and they grow extremely fast . Started with 1 and now I have 60 or so 2 years later .

Anybody interested in a swap for some orange/golds? Anybody that has seen these knows that 1) they are HUGE and 2) they've got excellent color.

I don't razor cut any of them. They grow on their own and migrate on their own. I have a rock with 3 heads on it (was just 1 a few weeks ago) but it also has some button polyps on it. Would be willing to trade it off for a different color variant. Mine get around 4" in diameter.

Toon this when the lights came on this morning so they are not opened up but the largest one is splitting

Good. Just got settled in kentucky. Got the new 180 up and going. Def miss ga. No big clubs here or good lfs

Glad to hear you are all set up again. That stinks that there's no stores out there. As far as the club I'm sure you will meet some reefers there and you can always post here!
