Just wanted to see what other people were using on their "nano" tanks to help with calcium and other essential elements needed by corals? On larger systems I have dripped Kalk, but not sure if I want to take the chance over dosing a 14g biocube. I have also used Seachem plus, calcium, and complete with good results. Just looking for some feedback for this new biocube project (my first nano) that I am putting together right now. Thanks.

Seachem reef advantage calcium and reef builder are the two main ones, from there I add some Mag as needed, some reef plus and reef trace for my soft corals and just for good measure. Other then that, no dosing is really required. I would not use Kalk in a nano, and I would never let Kalk auto drip in a nano. Too much risk for my blood.

IMHO, you can not go wrong with seachem products.

I have not been dosing anything, just doing a 25% water change every 2 weeks for my 20H. This weekend when I tested Alk and Calc, they were both too low, so I am starting to dose the Kent nano reef parts a and b. I was talking to Greg over at Optimum and he said that they are the same as the regular Kent 2 part b ionic products, just in a smaller size with new packaging.

really the safest and best best bet is to do a water change. you could change a gallon or two a week and be just fine.

This is my regiment as well. It seems to be working out fine. I do change about 25% every 10-14 days.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I agree with you Xyzpdq0121 on not being brave enough to try to drip Kalk in such a small system. I have used the Reef Complete in the past and saw good results. ReeferJW, I will have to check into the Kent 2part. I was at Optimum today and Greg helped me out with a few items I needed for the cube. Water changes are a must with a small system, so I am planning on a weekly 10% water change. I'm just so ready to finish up the last few mods on this tank, so I can get it up and running!
