Hey guys long time no see! So I recently purchased a 72 gallon bow front to replace my 28gal bio cube and I have a few questions. I am looking to put my 72 gal in the exact spent my bio cube is in. Is there a way to avoid a livestock killing cycle? I have 2 clowns and a few misc zoas I would need to move to the new tank. A friend of mine mentioned buying water from a LFS so it won't cycle? For my live rock I am just starting fresh with most of it from dry rock. And I already have the live sand in the new tank with about 4 inches of water. I just don't know how I will cycle my tank then move it across my house. On a side note I am running a hang on the back filter any ideas on this? I just don't have the knowledge or the space for a sump at this time. Thanks for any ideas!

I would pick up a 10 gallon or another small container to house the fish and coral while you empty the biocube then put everyting in your new tank when it is setup. I did this a couple months ago without issue. I put half water from my original tank with half new rodi. Petco has their dollar a gallon sale atm, so a 10 gallon is 10 dollars.

I am a newbie, but as far as I know, the biofilter is your rock, media, etc... as long as it all goes to your new tank and you do not suddenly add more bioload (new fish) your biofilter should still support your current bioload. I would plan to use as much of the water again as practical, only to help ensure your water parameters do not suddenly change.
