T5 light...is this one good?

So a coworker has a planted tank and is looking to upgrade his lights. He asked me about this one...does anyone have any comments on this one?

I would say you get what you pay for. The bulbs will lose par faster because they are not cooled. Also, the ballast, reflector and bulbs are probably of marginal quality. For a planted tank, it's probably fine.

That's what I was thinking....I started to point him in the direction of a retro kit from hellolights or something similar, though I know the demand is completely different as far as light output needs go for freshwater. Thanks.

I think that fixture would work great for plants
