My light should be in On Tuesday the 28th, I am new to the T5 thing and need help with bulb combination ideas, I have a 14K 175w MH on a 29 Gal tank that I am pleased with but would like to know what works well and what bulbs to stay away from. I was looking on here last night and came across a link to some PAR reading that someone had done I will look over that again but was just looking for Ideas, the new light is for a 75 that I'm building, here is a pic, I'm going to make sure I have good ventilation on the hood and then it's stain and finish time for the stand.

I'm getting excited about my new tank, I got a Red Sea controller for the Power heads and I picked up A Sea Swirl for the return, I also found a Euro Reef RS-6 2+ or RS-135 skimmer. I plan on doing Kalkwasser to replaced evaporated water, but considering Calcium Reactor, just don't know if it is worth the trouble in equipment room and added cost. I have a cut down 55Gal tank I was going to use for the sump, but I'm considering cutting down a 75 Gal tank that I have for added volume and space for a refugium. I Would like to know what ideas come to mind for the sump/refugium and any other advice you would like to give would be welcomed.
Thanks in advance for your time and your help

Good looking tank! Did you make the stand yourself?

As for bulbs, check out ATI Aquablue Special and Blue +, UVL Super Actinic and Aquasun, and finally a Fiji Purple.

Yes, Ash and Birch plywood, the stand is longer than the tank so I can put a full 48" tank for the sump.

Well if you can fit an 18" deep (front to back) tank, I'd recommend a 40 breeder. It's 36x18x13. This gives you plenty of room for a large drain/skimmer section, room for a fuge (figure 12" of the length) and room for a return pump section. You'll also have some space outside the sump for other equipment like a kalk stirrer or calcium reactor, 2-part chemicals, food, etc.

Light is here, wow is this thing big, I think I might have been able to get away with a 54w X 6, but bigger is always better right? This has got to be the most reflective thing I have ever looked at.

Would still like your input for bulb combinations,
Thanks
Mark

No, the 175 mh is on my 29 Gal reef, I may sell the 29Gal tank and all when I get the 75 up and running, that may be a long time at this rate.

I know the feeling on that. Better to take your time and get it right and the way you want it first time around

What is the size of that thing? A 75 is only 18" front to back, and I'd imagine the outside bulbs will be lighting up the floor or the glass, not much else. Might be a good spot for actinics.
