would a 3 bulb t5ho 48in fixture be enought for sps, lps, and softies? i do not want anen or clams because just too much $ and work for me. i am planing on some monti caps, brain, aton of zoos, some acans, a wall of xenia, and stuff like that.

That depends. Yes it can be enough but heres some questions id ask to get a better picture at what you want to do.

What kind of t-5 fixture? ballast, bulbs, and most important reflectors?
Distantce from surface you want to keep your corals?
Distance from surface you keep your light?
Do you just want them to live or grow?
What kind of SPS...

the only sps i want would be the monti caps and they will be close to the surface. i do not know all the details about the fixture but i imagine if it is a retro it would be indivudals. i want to keep the light on the top of my canopy 3-4in. i would like the corals to grow.

just remember the most important thing about T5's....each bulb needs its own reflector. If it doesnt have that, dont waste your time.

and a good reflector as glxtrix said. Cheap old reflectors generally don't do as well as the newer highly reflective ones.
