Currently running a mrc mr2 external skimmer. I am looking for a replacement pump. The cost of the pump would put me well on the way to a needle wheel skimmer. Not to mention the energy savings. Looking for pros and cons of setting up another remote sump to house a needle wheel skimmer (probably a super reef octopus). I've got plenty of room to setup another sump. My biggest complaint right now is the noise from the pump running my skimmer.

I bought it as a dual beckett modded to recirc. I have removed one of the becketts but still run it as a recirc. The performance is awesome but if I can get similar performance and save cash on power it might be time to make the switch.
