I noticed the day my fish was brought home had white specs on left fin. It didnt dawn on me anything would be wrong then tonight ive noticed they are on all fins.

A quarantine is not an option due to no room in my house at this time. He seems healthy and is eating well.

I plan to go pick up some garlic tomorrow to try to boost his immune system and soak in brine.

Any advise as to how we can beat this?

I have some of both of these if you need to use it Super.I hope all gos well,we brought home a Large Powder Brown,he got stressed, got ick and gave it to the rest of the bunch. After a month and 5 deaths I got a grip on it.Heavy Feeding is so important!Let me know if you need to use this stuff.

If he's eating your 90% there, keep feeding (heavy) with Metro/Focus or Dr. G's Anti-bacterial and garlic and he'll pull through

don't try to change a lot at the same time, just try and feed it more and keep it stressfree

Will do and thanks for the offer. Ima try to contact lfs in a few cause if possible I think it would be a good thing to have on hand anyway just in case happens again with any other livestock will keep you guys updated thanks again

Picked up metro/focus sechem brand today but im confused. The focus was full but metro didnt even touch the spoon had to pour it to get one spoon full directions are kinda confusing how do i use this stuff

I sent lfs a pm about the empty seachem metro hopefully they will replace it for me

Read the directions it will tell you what to do. I think mine was half full as well, guess thats how they sell it.

This wasn't half full this was almost empty like after 1 scoop with the little spoon t comes with left me like 2 more scoops max

Not sure if its gone or not but after one dose i checked my tang today after getting back from getting a couple frags from a buddy and all the white spots are gone, I'm amazed last night was about 15 or so i counted. Do i continue to use the meds for a couple more feedings to be on safe side?

Ich will look like it goes away

Keep treating for a few weeks 3 Min

Ah ok thanks hes currently fighting his reflection its confirmed my tang rode the short bus:D

UPDATE: all symptoms had appeared to be gone continued to use the metro/focus blended with food daily but the spots have come back and have aggresivly spread over the last 2 days. Now I've also noticed him scratching his eye with his own fin. He is still eating but he looks pretty bad IMO. Am I not doing something right with the medicine?

Should I try to set him up in his own tank and treat him with something else? Any suggestions don't want to loose the little Guy if possible kinds become attached to him.

The visible white spots are only indicitive of one phase of the lifecycle of the parasite. When spots disappear the protozoan is still in your tank. This is why "re-infection" is so common.

I would be prepared to move him to a hospital tank for futher treatment if he is beginning to go downhill.

I'm suprised no one called me out on this~

In my haste I referenced the worng product, duh!

Dr.G's Anti Parasitic would be used for a parasite i.e. Ick.

I keep a few tangs. They always seem to be a mild case in my tank. Like my achilles will always have 1-2 white spots on him, but never more than I can could count. I may have been lucky so far but ich hasnt been an issue. Seems like a common cold.

I wasn't too worried with mine but noe I am he's probably got over 100 spots on him
