i have seen it alot but looking at the compatability chart says no how do you put multiple tangs in a tank together looking to get a naso and a blue hippo tank what is the correct way to do it so they get along or can they at all

I have several tangs in my tank (although not a naso or blue hippo) I always try to keep my tang additions smaller than those that are already in the tank. I have been incredibly lucky and have never had more than a day when the fish did not get along. In some cases we have also tried to add fish at night after the lights are already out and/or after the fish have already been fed to cut down on issues.

That's normal for my Power Brown... he eats all about 1/4 of an algae sheet and all the twice-a-day general feedings he can scarf down.

THe more room you have the better. I have kept many dif species of tangs together. In the 300 I have had a sailfin, naso, regal, yellow, atlantic blues and a purple with no issues.

Virtually all tangs will outgrow your 110 within a year or two so get small guys that you can watch grow up.

Do a Tomini Tang (6" full grown) and maybe a Yellow eyed Kole tang (8in full grown). The will remain smaller. Naso and Regals can get over 12" easy.

This confused me for a while also....The not mixing of tangs is based on their family name. If you go to http://www.vividaquariums.com">www.vividaquariums.com</a> and then pull up the tang page, its listed with their common names and the scientific names. I believe there is something like 5 or 6 divisions of tangs. You shouldn't put two from the same, but can house two (or more) from different divisions.

Tangs not only get rather large, but are very active swimmers. So....you need to make sure you've got "open water" for them. Though....my big hoss that I just added (thanks BellyDancinBabyDoll!) loves zipping in and out of the tunnels and caves that I have. I've got a 235 with a Regal (aka Hippo), Naso and Sohal. I've played with the idea of adding a Purple Tang and a Kole.....but worried about space.
