long story short - my sump cracked at a seam while removing my skimmer. drained the sump, overflows, popped an airstone in. have 4 koralia 4's and my vortech mp40 still running.

how long do i have to get it back running before i lose my whole tank?

luckily I have another sump ready to go but still need to clear out all the under cab (lots of water :yuk:) and make a run to HD. my neighbor is helping me today but not til later (im an idiot when it comes to plumbing)..it could be noon or later before i can get this back up and running.......am i screwed?

Sorry to hear about your sump.

With the Koralias and pump running, you should be fine. Not everyone runs a sump so think of it that way as well.

You can probably last days with that flow, don't feed much since you're not skimming

wheeww...luckily today is my re-plumb, new skimmer, new UV, new everything basically so it is good timing...good to know i can still take my time and do it right..

i dont plan to feed at all until i am up and running

You'll be fine dude. That much flow will keep the oxygen in the water. Take your time and do it right.

man, sorry to hear that! but youll be fine for sure. i have 2 tanks right now that have been up for around a yr, and neither have a sump. a sump is not necessary but they DO make it ALOT easier to control nitrates and algae

my params are a lil out of whack right now, trates 20, phosphates a lil high...i was kinda "lettin it go" til today and planned a large WC. no filtration right now but plenty of aeration..

It will help to point one or two of your powerheads at the surface for oxygenation. I have been running a 20g long without a sump or skimmer (only 3 small fish and 20 softies) for over 2 years that way. I feed heavy so I do two water changes a week. All fish and corals have stayed healthy.

good to know.. my sump will be out of commission for about two days when I replace it..

You should be just fine and can feed the fish whenever you want, just make sure you aren't adding any more than they eat right away. You probably do that anyway. The only thing you are missing by not having the sump is the skimmer and maybe refugium if that was part of your sump. The live rock in your display is the filtration and you have plenty of flow, so unless there is something unusual about your set up, no worries.

+1

Your rock is your filtration. With that kind of flow, don't fret - you'll be fine.
