I pulled out the box that my mag pump came in and remembered that it was rated for 350gph. I have a 90 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump and 15 gallon fuge. The 350gph is in the sump pushing the water back to the tank. Is that 350gph sufficiant for what I have?

I would think you should push more in a 90 gal. If it is reef ready with one overflow, you could probably push 550-600gph, so I would shoot for that. Depending on how high you are pumping from sump to tank, I'd say a mag 9 would be good.

Sorry Dawgdude, but I do not get the even flow thing. I alway think that you do not need to puss that much water into the the tank since we are using the skimmer on our sump also.

As long as we get good flow. in this case an Mag7 will work great.

I just started Lindas tank.

The stand is 38" tall and the tank is 24".

Return is a mag 5 and it blows the sand around. Plentyyyy of flow!
