Which test kits do you guys recommend? I use to use nutrafin but I heard someone say it wasn't too great. So let's hear it. Which do you guys use and why?

API isnt that great either, i usually would recommend to go with salifert or elos...

Yeah it was a joke with the API guys lol. I got a Lab something kit and im gonna look into a better stuff once i run dry. I usually take it to a Store they have better sutff

I have seen that recommendation from numerous places. It seems like the general consensus is these are the best. Seachem seems to be liked by some but not by all.

API will get you by until you can afford to get all of the elos or salifert test kits if need be.

I've always hated API. They were never good to me. I think I'll go with the elco then since it seems like alot of you guys like it.

I've used safelert I've used seahem api and elos. Elos is the best imo very user friendly I've been using for a while and very happy with.the results seachem was not bad either but I like the way elos is layer out over seachem

Wow thanks for all the replies guys. This helped me out a lot in determining which test kit I'm going to get. I'm sure this will help others out there as well. Thanks again guys!!

Just starting back into the hobby myself and wouldn't you know I would pick up the API kit. Will def switch to the ELOS as soon as possible.

IMHO. API sucks ba!!'s. When I first got into reeding and LFS (no names) told me it was one of the best. Sure enough, I took the test kit home and tested my water which was only 3 days into the cycle and it read everything was ZERO!! I was so excited I called them back and said I think my water was done cycling because everything was reading zero. So they told me to come back in and get some fish and coral (knowing my tank was only 3 days old) and go to ahead and put it in my tank. Sure enough everything died. Went elsewhere to test my water to double check and everything was sky high. Never again will I ever use API.
