I was looking at my tank and it seems like I have to much rocks in there
it seems like flow going to be a problem in the near future also the fish don't have much space to swim
can a two Island set up work for this tank, maybe no rocks touching the back on the tank.

Also do I disturb the sand, I would like to re stock the tank with whats in there now, and I don't want to loose anything

It can be done but have a quarter to half the volume of the tank in new salt water mixed up and ready in case of problems.

I would try to disturb the sand as little as possible. If you take out to much rock at one time you could have many cycle.

If it were me I would try to move some of the rock out little by little over two weeks or so. If you can move some to you sump even better as it can still do it's thing.

Slower is always better at least in this hobby

i took out a lot of my rock work to give more swim room for the fish...about 2 weeks later i put it back in (kept it in my 30 thank god). It just didnt look like a reef anymore

I have been slowly removing rocks over time as teh corals grow. Not very far yet, but I plan to eventually reduce my rocks by 50 more lbs, probably.

Maybe that is a safer option, to just systematically remove your least favorite rocks.

Ok, I took everyone advise including Tim @ Keen reef and did not redo my tank
I did took some rocks out and did some rearranging of the tank
Here are some pic

thanks
I have been battling red algea for the past month
it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel coming soon

Looks pretty good. As the corals grow the rocks will be obscured anyway, so just focus on good coral placement and it will look terrific in short time.

Thanks guys
thanks for all the advice, appreciate it
now that I got over my algae problem, I can finally enjoy the tank
