This may sound crazy but Ive been dealing with brown clove polyps for over a year and I've just learned to live with them. From what I see these brown star polyps look and behave a lot like the blue clove polyps. My tank is very grown in but any bare rock is covered in the brown star polyps. I have noticed that the encrusting corals and sps are not affected by these and the encrusting corals slowly win. I can kill the brown star polyps with peroxide giving me a place to put a coral but any free space gets covered right back up by the BCP. My thoughts are that the blue clove are more attractive and I can use my same technique when I want to introduce a new coral. I may be crazy but the brown cloves are not pretty at all. I include a tank shot to show what I'm talking about the brown sections are the clove polyps.
