Picked up a few banana fish yesterday and this guy wasnt doing well from the moment he came out of the bag(everyone else is fine if youre wondering).

This is no more than 18 hours from the last time I saw it alive. There is nothing in this tank but algea and pods.

So remember this the next time you find a fish dead looking like this and think it got attacked.

Good post!

So many times we see or here of certain tank inhabitants accused of such crimes and thus getting a bad rap amongst new aquarist I.e. Bristle worms, crabs, certain fish et cetra. Usually they are only related by opportunity.

I was just amazed at how fast that happened.

I have been trying to figure out who beat the crap out of two other fish a few weeks ago but this damage is consistent with what I saw so now Im clueless again.

Finding the actual cause of a fish death is **** near impossible without seeing it happen first hand.

my last 220 had a cbb, and it was half gone within 8 hours. doesnt take long for the scavengers to make short work of it.

my only marine fish loss to date.

Well that's kind of gnarly.

Wrasses don't like to travel. Unfortunate loss.
