While feeding the dozens of FatHead Dendro’s my beautiful 4” Orange Back Wrasse manged to jump threw a 2” gap and landed behind the tank.

Blindly I struggled to reach behind the tank, sweeping my hand along the cold tile floor. To great surprise I felt him, grabbed him and had him back into the tank in less than 20 seconds. With his eyes bulging out, breathing rapidly he sank to the bottom and settles on the sand bed upside down in shock.

As I watch him, shaking my head in sorrow, he flips around and darts under a rock. His fate is now a waiting game, time and prayer will bring the answer.

This maybe the end of the 40 cube. If he dies, I’m shutting down and selling out. Not to quit the hobby forever, but a break...

I hope he makes it. I have been there it hurts.

Good luck, fish always seem to find the smallest cracks in our tanks.  Luckily you noticed and quickly got him. My guess and hope is he will recover. Gotta keep hope up!

Thanks guys, thought I posted an update last week, odd!

He’s doing great!! The only evidence of the event is that he’s skiddish around me now :(

Not fair at all but such is life!
