tiger shrimp

I purchased a tiger shrimp on Friday for my friendly yellow tail goby. When I placed him in the tank, he immediately ran for cover (did not surprise me). An hour later I find him digging (I'm thrilled and excited watching him). Later I return and he is no where to be found and I have not seen him since. Is this typical or should I assume he is dead?

I bet he's hiding. I've got a starfish that I will not see for 3-4 weeks before he peeps out.

I have a couple of Pistols. 1 in my DT I won't see for MONTHS... Literally MONTHS...

They dig a home under the rocks and stay put most the time , they are very nocturnal
Did the shrimp meet your goby ? If so watch it to see where he goes to sleep they may share a hole.
