Do all aerate or circulate their make-up water reservoir. I know that stagnant water often stinks (smells bad) and I do aerate/circulate, but wanted to know if there's any scientific reason for doing so.

Well, if you don't aerate or circulate it, it may accumulate CO2 and have a depressed pH. IF you test beforehand and see this, then add buffer, when the water is added to the tank, the pH will spike.

I do not circulate my 50 gal. RO holding tank. It is only used for RO water and has a tight lid on it. I probably would if it didn't have a lid.

Haha, I read "make-up" as for water changes, not top offs. No, I don't aerate my top off water.
