to sock or not to sock

Just ordered an assortment of micron sizes in the mesh type bag as recommended earlier in the thread from filterbags.com...what a nice and helpful person I spoke with. I got 10 bags for about $3.00+ each.

So I ordered these yesterday around 11 o'clock am and they were sitting on my doorstep when I got home from work today. Just paid for ground shipping, i'm closer to Illinios (where they ship from) than most of y'all, but still pretty good.

Is that 25 bags or $25? The site I went to, filterbags.com had a $30 minimum (I realized after that they were refering to filterbag.com)
I spent $41 for 10 bags, 4-150micron nylon, 4-150micron polyester, and 2-50micron polyester...

every time i select a quantity of 4, it says: * You have not met the minimum order quantity of 25. Am i doing something wrong?

Good question... I've never ordered from them, and I just ordered some from John but I'll get in with you for 3 or 4 if you need an extra few to meet the order. Can't hurt to have a few extra.

Call filterbag.com during their business ours. They will sell less than their stated minimum. I bought just 4 the last time.

Nylon is more durable than polyester per the sales guy there. I purchased nylon mesh filter bags, 7" diameter, 7 x 16.5 length, 100 micron, plastic ring neck. About $6.50 each. Already had 4 in the 200 micron size.

I assume you need a 4" diameter, so look at nylon mesh, plastic ring neck, in your micron choice, usually 200 micron (and other ratings you want to play with), and I would get the 14" length unless you want the 8" length. 14" length will go longer between cleanings than the 8". Length depends on how much space you have under your sock holder.

ok, i'll call tmrw. my sump takes 2 socks and one gets dirtier faster than the other. I'll probably used mis-matched micron bags; smaller micron in the sock position that fills fastest

Regarding micron size. I am using 100 micron size now. I go between 100 and 200 based on how fast the bags fill up. Seems like sometimes the 100 micron size fills up too fast, so I start using 200 for a while. I'll probably switch back to 200s in a bit cause I've been feeding more lately.

But definitely consider two 50 micron size ones for water polishing.
