I will probably regret asking this but is this too much rock for a 37g bow front? It’s 40#. Lots of little caves and spaces between them. Edit: I have no idea why the pics are sideways.

Rock is very subjective. The right amount depends more on the look you are going for than anything else.

While rock helps provide habitat for all kinds of organisms it won’t either insure nor prevent success in a given reef, by itself. Your care & discipline will determine that overall success.

Decide on what look you prefer and build a reef around that. It’s the main reason you wanted one to begin with.

You shouldn't ever regret or be afraid to ask a question here. It is a lot of people that are more then willing to help with no judgement or anything, trust me I've asked plenty of crazy questions!!! As far as too much, its about what you like mainly. For me I would look at removing or rearranging the front a bit just to keep it from looking like little rocks laying around. Maybe even stack a bit more on the right, but I think it looks good.

It's hard to tell from the pic but I didn't stack higher on the right because that top rock is a nice flat piece I thought things would like to live on lol. The center front is actually two loose rocks I just set in there. Definitely easy to move. I left a lot of space under the rocks to hopefully get flow through there as well as to create some hiding places. I'm sure it will "evolve" as I live with it. It's weird, I look at it and I like it, then I look at it and I don't love it. But then I do. I appreciate the input!!

Forgot to say in my original post but I love it as it is as well. From all your pictures I like every view. You should be proud of your work of art. Can’t wait to see it with corals

I think it’s a perfect amount, l love the fact it’s spread out on the bottom like it is. If you keep it bare bottom (I would) then you can blast it with flow and have no places for stuff to accumulate. Personally I love rocks laying around, makes them much easier to move and you have the availability to move stuff around as it grows.

Thanks! I bought 40# of sand but I put one in and I think it plenty. Still lots of room under the rocks
