Total darkness ?

Do tanks need a total black out at night ? Is there any function that happens I'm unaware of?

Lights are on from noon till 9pm, moon light till 10pm .

Fuge light kicks on at 9:45 pm and stays on till 7:30am ( lights up behind the tank but not directly in it ) then all lights off but now there's ambient light in the room .

Not that I can see anything wrong just curious.

The ocean never sees total darkened, the moon is always there. Unless you are trying to breed fish or get coral to spawn there is no issue with your schedule.
