Hey guys

I have a large big fish trap that I just ordered from Aquarium Specialty

I've got a really bad outbreak of aptasia, so i need to drop in like 10 peppermint shrimp to hopefully get control. The marine beta will eat these guys for lunch. =(

I currently feed him a mixture of mysis with the other fish, and i've tried dropping in a frozen cube into the trap -- hoping that he swims into one of the doors. So far, i haven't been able to lure anything in the trap except for a wrasse =/

Anyone have a good idea on what type of bait to use to trap em? I'm thinking i may even get a single pepp shrimp, close one of the doors, and hope he goes after that although i'd rather not kill a shrimp i need!

try a ghost shrimp. you can tie a string to its tail to keep it in the trap.

Also just leave the trap in the tank and open for a few days so he gets used ot it.
