I've never personally used it, but I considered it. It has a calcium gluconate base, with additional trace elements. The gluconate(carbohydrate) is what essentially provides the energy. The calcium doesn't contribute to photosynthesis, and if it did, the gluconate would have to oxidize and break back down into C, O, and H.Glucose is an end result of synthesis, so I'd say this calcium would skip steps, if anything. But will not provide carbon dioxide in its common form.
