I have two clownfish (false). I got them a week ago today LFS said brine shrimp but wait until Friday. I was to give the half a cube. They did nothing but eat it an spit it out. They my be eating 1 percent of a half cube. So I got mysisa shrimp same thing. This is day 7 what to do. Today I added garlic guard with same results. Parameters are 8.3 ph and 0 on everything else. The fish act fine look clean and healthy. What is up are they eating it after I leave or what. The amount I have seen them eat they should be die I think. I am worried what do I do. Maybe I am paranoid

Clownfish are very hardy, they'll eat what they want when they want. How often do you feed? I usually feed once a day in the morning around the same time. They all understand that when I come to the tank in the morning it's time to eat.

If they look healthy, they swim around, and they don't act weird; just keep doing what you're doing. Clownfish will very rarely starve themselves

you could try pellet. are they captive raised? mine is and only ate pellet for the longest time. now he eats bs. but only the smallest pieces. but i still fed pellet too.

I feed once a day at the same time 5 pm. They do get very excited when I come in the room. I was feeding them with a syringe with some air tube on it. I did this so I could control the amount they got instead of dropping a half cube in the tank. They will come to the air tube an wait for the food as soon as they see what is coming out no interest. Everynow and then eat some then eat more and spit it out. I am going to just keep keeping on I guess. LFS nemos said they feed brine so that is what I got from Simon

is it possible the brine shrimp is freezer burnt?

yours sounds just like mine does. even the pieces he does eat are not whole ones but he loves the pellet. 1.0mm spectrum ones.

try a different food......brineshrimp flakes, live gutpacked brineshrimp, spirualla brineshrimp, PE Mysys......etc.

Could it be that the brine are just too large for them to swallow? How big are the clowns?

I got two sizes one is like 1 to 1.5 inches and the other is .5 to .75 inches

My new Kole tang wasnt eating any of the rods food or mysis I feed the tank, just swam thru it. I put some pellets in and he freaked out mowing them down faster than I could put them in...

Ok got some 1mm pellets spectrum. Still not eating that either. I was sneaky an looked through the crack of the door I think they are eating something off my live rock. Maybe food that has settled maybe cope I don't know as soon as they see me in the room they freak out and stop. Like I said weird the one thing I have notices when one of them poops the long string of poop they will come across the tank and eat it and spit it out. Is there maybe some kind of worm they may have been eating that would look like that, that I can feed them I am spending a lot of money on food this **** fish are not eating LOL. I have tried everything getting frustating
