My two little fishes 150 reactor running gfo leaks out gfo over time and I can't seem to fix it. It is being run by a mini jet 606 and only has about 1/3 of the cannister full of gfo and it has a nice gentle tumble going on inside.

Over time the gfo gets blown out past the foam filter that came with the reactor that is suppose to keep the gfo inside. What's going on here? To be expected with such a cheap basic unit or what? Do I need to find a more dense filter to stop the particles from exiting thru the top or what?

Thanks

Have you got it setup right? Foam piece on top of the bottom disc and then the foam piece goes on top of the other (top) piece. I haven't had any prob w/GFO or Carbon in the 150

Ya I got the two foam disc's in there. It seems like the foam disc on top is not dense enough to catch the gfo.

Is it possible the flow is too strong. I thought GFO should not tumble at all? I am running 2 of the TLF reactors and it only gets pat the sp

Edit: Darn cell phone, only gets past the top sponge if my flow is to high.

Run your output through a 4" mesh filter sock. I do this with my carbon and GFO reactors. Catches any fines and you just turn it inside out and rinse once in a while.

The gfo surface should have a slight roll to it. Carbon is the one that stays stationary.
