So I was at Petco randomly and acquired a pair of snowflake clownfish for 39.99 each and in talking to the guy was told he could get "cooler" ones called black edge snowflake, I asked if he meant black ice but he gave me their sustainable aquatics order list and it specifically shows snowflake, snowflake black edge as well as black ice but I can't find any info on differences..

Any of the experts here heard of a black edge snowflake?

The one on Moreland near lil 5.. But my list shows black ice and when he checked the price it was different than the black ice by 45 bucks..

Edit: They seem to be in good health eat like pigs and very active . Been in my 150 for about a week now although a blue head wrasses I got there didn't even make the 20 minute ride home

Each co. will come up with their slightly different cross and name. SA has a bunch of different crosses. Fancy,Super fancy, black, blacker, select, extreme, etc. Each pair will produce a different offspring and be slightly different.

I have 2 ocellaris clownfish from there. I have seen other clownfish there before such as some of the ones with large amounts of black. The labeling of fish is sometimes wrong or not clear there.

Thanh- the guy said it was a very rare occurrence because normally the get a "drop ship" order and my pair he said sat there for about a week with zero interest.. The have some TINY maroons with interesting tail spots and misbarring

Thanks James for the help with the names.. But now I can't decide if there would bE a benefit to having him order me more snowflakes or spend extra at the chance of possibly getting black ice-ish looking fish or just spending more for what I'd get anyway lol

who knows? SA has some great fish and if they are willing to retail for $40 sounds like a steal to me. Get em why you can right? This won't last.
