So, I found a babyjellyfish-like organism in my tank this morning. It is very small, and is a single "medusa" type polyp that moves by contracting the top, much as a jellyfish does.
I narrowed it down to 2 things in my head. It could really be a baby jellyfish that somehow hatched within my liverock or something and is now a baby.
Or, seeing as how corals are also cnidarians, maybe this is the larval stage of an SPS. I remember learning something about larvae of corals having medusa like motility.
It is about 1 mm in diameter and is brown in color.
Of course this would happen on Eastrer when all the LFS's are closed...
Does anybody know anything about these? Thanks.
