I hope this doesn't sound too dumb, but are there any kind of flowers that can grow underwater? Saltwater or freshwater.

I've heard flowers can be kept underwater and that they last longer - does anyone know if you could take a grown flower, then place it underwater and have it continue to live?

Like I said, kind of a dumb sounding question, but it's for a specific reason.

There's an ARC member who would be able to answer your question.

Send a PM to http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/member.php?u=1849">Curator</a>.

I'm betting he can tell you.

I know that if you place a rose in water with a little vinegar mixed in, it will make it open up full.... not sure on preserving flowers tho'. Try hanging it upside down to dry it out.(takes a couple of days and works well in a hot car) Then it will last for a while.

Seagrass, eh? Sounds like something to go google. Thanks!

Anyone else know of anything?

This is what I found:
Anubias species are an example of underwater flowering plants. Also, some aponogetons flower underwater. Specific conditions should be met however to achieve underwater flowering.

You can find pics of flowering anubias on google.
