Unidentified Growing Object

This white stem is growing in my tank. I have no idea what it is. It's not a worm. I am thinking some type of coral. Anyone seen anything like this before? It grows fairly quickly. Last weekend it was half that size. It's half inch long right now.

Looks like a sponge, a good thing.

Could be sponge or maybe a Vermetid snail, look it up and see what you think.

They put out white strings to catch food but yours looks pretty big for a stringer?!

I looked up both the snail and sponge. I saw photos that lean more towards sponge.
