Some time ago I wanted to get a CAD program to digitally draw stuff specific to my reef addiction. Basically I wanted to draw out tank and system designs. I tried a couple of programs that to say the least were way over my head and that's when I found http://sketchup.google.com/">Google SketchUp</a>. The basic program is easy and most importantly FREE.

One of the other cool things about it is the library of Sketches that are avalable... Usually I do a search for what I'm looking for... like "SketchUp office desk"... That's how I got the desk for the office in my home addition.

So... I know I'm a relative newbie at SketchUp but I got really excited about some cool stuff that I found and that's why I'm sharing now...

I found an article that showed me how to built this...

It's a Deltec Kalk Stirrer

Here is the article that I found that gives the step by step http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2008/6/aafeature">instructions</a>

So with all that said... let's see your SketchUp designes...

Sketchup is cool. I'm not a huge fan of the cartoon-y renderings, but I guess for a free program you dont get super nice texture rendering. It would be cool for everyone to share their designs. Some might even be good put in a downloadable library for everyone to use, like that kalk stirrer.
