Through my research. It seems that the proper way to plumb a UV sterilizer is between the return pump and tank. But my question is, if that is not possible, is it still worth installing on a dedicated pump? I know it won’t be quite as efficient, but it’s just not possible to interrupt the return pipes on my display without causing a flood

it depends on what you are trying to do. If you have dinos it is recommended that you connect it to the display. Pull from display and return to the display. If you just want to add clarity you can put it anywhere on its own pump

I think the biggest reason I would add a UV sterilizer would be to aid in parasite management. I have about 12 or so tangs that have flare ups every now and then. I just lost a clown and blend about a month or two after adding a purple tang
