I was planing to buy GHL ProfiLux Stand Alone Dosing System. Now my eyes are on Vertex Libra dosing pump. It is expensive but awesome with Touch Screen Controller. It is probably one of the best dosing pump in market right now.

Thanh,
That really looks nice. but I will give you a head's up that the company that sells these Vertex products to dealers, Proline Aquatics, is a real pain in the rear to deal with should you have any issues that require warranty work. I have two of the Vertex Alpha skimmers and love them, but thank God nothing has gone wrong with them. I just bought a Vertex Vectra Engine skimmer neck cleaner and 300 mm top from an online dealer for my Alpha 300. The Vectra Engine is the electric motor part of the neck cleaner, and you attach it to a skimmer top that you buy separately, depending on the diameter of your skimmer cup.

As you can see, the motor has a clear acrylic cover, meant to showcase the inside of the cleaner motor. Mine arrived all discolored by acrylic glue smeared on the top. I took the top off to confirm this. Obviously a manufacturing error.

I contacted my dealer (not an ARC Sponsor), and they referred me to Proline for warranty issues. I took a pic of the smeared top and they told me it was "silicone used to seal the acrylic top that had evaporated when the unit was being shipped to the US", and that it was no big deal, but they would "do me a favor" and exchange it out for another if I shipped it out to them.

I shipped it out. They got it on a Wednesday, but didn't look at it until the following Tuesday and ship me a replacement until the day after that because "we do our warranty reviews and shipping Tuesdays." My package sat for an entire week before being even looked at.

I got the replecement Vectra Engine, and it was missing the screw on the top of the engine that holds the clear motor cover in place. I emailed them and never heard back. I finally called on a Wednesday and was told they had shipped it to me that day. Called back the next week and was told that for some reason they hadn't actually shipped it and that it shipped that week instead! I mean, are you lying to me? Get your sh!t together please.

I had to call and initiate very contact point with Proline, and they ignored every email I sent to them.

I like the Vertex products I own, but warranty work is a nightmare with these folks. A very cruddly level of Customer Service, IMO.

Here is a thread from Reef Central outlining the same nightmarish type CS. They cleaned up the thread, but it is Proline and the OP even named the same CS guy I had the displeasure of dealing with.

Thank you very much, Dave, for the long writing. I just ran a quick search on Proline and I got the mixed view about their customer service. Vertex's products are one of the best and no questions about it. I am debating myself between GHL ProfiLux and Vertex Libra which just came out a couple of months ago. If the customer service is out of touch, I would go with GHL.

I may be wrong, but I would not be surprised if Proline is not the Profilux disributor in North America.

Have you looked at the Bubble Magus 4 channel doser? That is a nice looking unit as well. I have seen them in person. I'd definitely use a doser of some type if I was doing 2 part.

Here's a review of the BM doser:

$299 from BRS.

I think Vertex uses their money on quality and r&d so chances are you wouldn't have a problem with it, the companies that make cheap products have to be better at fixing them because they get so much stuff back
