Vinegar Bath

How long do you soak pumps and equipment in a vinegar bath?

Is it dependent on the amount of "stuff" you are trying to clean off?

How long is too long?

Too long can mess with vinyl insulation on wires, so be careful.

About as long as it takes to soften up the buildup.

Remove gaskets, o-rings, etc

I have heard from plenty that they leave them on but I have had them expand/distort in 36-48 hrs soaking

I've never had to do it for more than 15-30 minutes. But I try to not let stuff build up.

I usually do this once every month or two... 15-30 minutes and everything that doesn't dissolve outright will flake off easily with a brush or thumbnail. Bonus in that once you've gotten into the habit stuff doesn't build up that much in the first place.
