hello reefers
I know on monday if my visa will be aproved and if so ill be landing in Atlanta on the third of September For MACNA:yay:

It would be great if you guys could help me out with some suggestions WRT travel ,accom and sight seeing in Atlanta?

my First question : As this will be my first time visiting the U.S I have no idea of public transport! when I land will there be Taxis at the airport that can take me to my hotel?

Where would you suggest I stay over the MACNA period? I have been informed that the peach tree is full.

I fly out of Atlanta on the 11th for texas , could you suggest any aquarium/aquaculture related venues I could visit befor I fly out?

Any good live music on during this time?

thanks a heap

peace

There should be taxis at the airport. Depending on which hotel you book, there may be a shuttle there for free.

Since I'm spoiled having grown up in Washington, D.C., I've always thought Atlanta was light on sight seeing, but here's a website that might give you some ideas: http://www.atlanta.net/visitors/seedo.html">http://www.atlanta.net/visitors/seedo.html</a>

Obviously, the aquarium should top your list. After that, I think it depends on what you're interested in and where you're staying. There are historical sights for the Civil Rights movement, the Civil War era, and others. Then there's the "modern" stuff like the Coke Museum, a [IMG]http://www.cnn.com/tour/atlanta/">CNN tour</a> (I liked this a lot), the Atlanta Braves museum (Atlanta's baseball team), and others.

thanks for the info george!

To tell you the truth I really am not nterested in museums or any other tourist sights but I will most defnatley be spending a lot of time at the aquarium! it looks like a stunner!
