Vortec trouble

It looks like they took some of the information off the site, but here is a link to how to replace the old one and it has some pictures. http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/magnet_upgrade1.pdf">http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/magnet_upgrade1.pdf

It's very easy to tell since the old versions had a silver nut and gray colored magnet. The new version has a black coated magnet and the screw and nut are some type of black composite. These should all be out of the system by now but they were surprised when I bought a spare wetside not long ago and it ended up being the old style.

I dont see this info anywhere on the website. Where am I missing it?
Thanks![/QUOTE]

There's actually a newer revision of the wet sides that replaces the propeller, spacer, bushing and wet frame. It uses the gen 2 black magnets and the black screw and nut.

I guess it could be called a Gen 3 wet side unofficially. I will get some pics posted in a few minutes.

The parts on the left are 2nd gen. The right shows an updated ceramic bushing, back plate, propeller and shorter shaft. The grooves that hold the bushing in place have been modified so they won't strip out as easily.

Hope this helps.

Let me go get my wife's camera. :)

Got in touch with the Eco-tech support folks. It took some back and forth emailing and picture taking... but in the end they warranted my problem and sent me a new wet site assy.
Works like a charm!

Thanks for the guidance everyone!
