Vortech Powered Shrimp Slushy...

Well, first time I've actually WATCHED something get caught in the Vortech since I have been running them. Just lost a peppermint shrimp to my MP40...

Probably hard to see in this pic, but it just obliterated the shrimp. Guess I can skip a feeding... Or two.

Yeah, when I first introduced my pistol shrimp to my 29gal biocube I turned off everything but the MP10. Absolutely panicked when I put the little bugger in and he starts madly trying to swim away from the vortech but slowly getting sucked toward it. Thankfully I was able to unplug it in time for him to make it to the sand!

There's a nice DIY fix for vortech propeller screen. Basically it's just a black mesh screen with like 1/4 of an inch squares attached with zip ties to the front of the screen guard. It remedies suicidal tendencies

good times. albeit. not for the shrimp.
