Looks pretty dang cool!

I read that, adn what I find strange or interesting is how does he controller automatically know what the best current setup is for your tank?

They surprised me by taking off the outer edge so it can no longer be mounted with screws to your stand or whatnot. Now it comes with a couple of velcro strips for mounting.

Otherwise it looks and sounds appealing, but I agree with Dave on how "smart" is the controller?

Yeah I'm wondering the same thing. What I really like about it that you can use actually see the speed setting and not have to fumble with the little dial. And the expanded and better modes look neat.

Maybe it's capable of sensing the gravitational pull of the moon and bases it's program on the actual tide of the ocean you program it to follow.....idk....but that would make them pretty sweet if they could.....actually if they're computer monitorable rhen I don't see why you couldn't say....make them reproduce tidal swell and possible current of hawaii in your tank.....just base it off the data from NOAA.......just a thought... :-)

They make a good bit of the function seem like set it and forget it. I just like to know how things work. Maybe it is proprietary info or something?

I took the plunge and ordered the update today. I'll take a few pictures and post them once it gets here. I wasn't completely convinced on the new wave features, but with my controller being mounted on the wall next to my tank, the sleeker look is a plus in the WAF category.

Are you talking about the updated ES driver of the whole unit with updated driver? You buy the updeated ES driver directly from Ecomarine's parts website. Its $75 right now until the end of April IIRC...then the price goes up to $100.
