Ok so I want more blue in my tank, right now I've got a 250 radium in a lumen max elite. I'm wondering what I could do to get a darker blue. Thought about adding 1 or 2 T-12 VHO's or T-5's suggestions?? My tank is 30in long so I'd have to stick to 24in bulbs.

I'd look into changing the halide bulb before trying to add blue via florescents. It'll be much much easier.

I found the xm 20kk to be quite blue. I haven't seen/used the evc, so I can't comment on it. How's the par on it, Charlie?

that pfo hqi is over driving the radium a little. An electronic will give it more blue usually

I saw Joe's tank after he put the EVC's on and I thought they were just as blue as the radiums.

Why does everyone think I should not do the t5 or t12?? Kinda like that idea then I could to a sunrise and sunset light sequence.

I don't think anyone's saying don't do them, just not for the reasons you're listing. Get a halide bulb you want, then do a sunrise/sunset with T5 or VHO (if T5, go with ATI Blue +).

I personally love vho's but if you are going to mount the lights to the sides of your hanging fixture, reflectors and all, the t5's will look more sleek.
New vho 454 bulb looks awesome by the way, but super actinic is probably whatcha whatcha whatcha want
