Water Change Solenoid

I am looking for some help in determining what type of solenoid I need to purchase to finalize the setup for water change make up. Currently I have a 32 gal brute trash can with a float switch from BRS that cuts off the water when it reaches the float. This works ok, but I would like to get a solenoid with a timer to put upstream of the floatswitch which I can set for 10 hours(normally takes 9 hours to fill up brute) in order to have some redundancy to prevent spills. I am pretty handy putting things together, but sorting through grainger trying to find the correct switch or timer is not my specialty.

I have 1/4'' tubing running to the brute, so if the solenoid was threaded and I could screw in JG fittings that would be ideal.

check this one out - this is what I use with the APEX Neptune

+1 on autotopoff.com solenoid ... running the same one to control 2 top-off systems and kalk dosing. Good idea to get redunency - I use it, high/low float switches and float valves all backing each other up.

the link does not open for me where did you purchase or where did you find this solenoid

Sorry for digging this old thread up but I am looking for a reliable 120V solenoid to replace the unit I got from McMaster that only lasted a year before leaking.

How have the autotopoff.com solenoids been lasting?

Anyone have a solenoid they have been using with good results?

Mine has for top off application . Using one for a rodi shutoff valves should probably be a normally closed and have a continuous duty rating.
something like this

+1 If you go normally closed and the power source fails, it will "Fail Safe" and turn the water source off.
