Water Help!

I've been using distilled water or tap with prime for top off and water changes, but it's going to catch up to me, eventually. I can't afford an RODI system right now, so what is the next best solution? Could using Prime in conjunction with a single part of the RODI system be sufficient?

I use water filtered through one carbon block and add prime in my 5g in my office at work. I haven't noticed any issue in two years.

You can get an RODI for $100 or less. You don't need a full water station, just the filter and some jugs.

Local fish store $5, 5 gallons about the same as buying water and adding salt!

I figured that part was understood. You can do that... From my experience with my tank at work, save your $5 a week (or however much you need) keep doing it the way you're doing it, and then buy the filter after a few months.
