Hi folks. I have come across a company (aquariumwatertesting.com) that does "lab" testing of your water. Anyone ever use this or know the price? I could not see it on the site.
Thanks. :)

I have never used them. Here are there current "sale" prices.

Thanks CD. I clicked on "Parameters" and I assume this is what they test for you. I may give this a try just to see if their readings are similar to mine...

"back in the day", Salifert had a major issue with ALK kits, and Habib was actually "run off of RC" because of it (he's back now, after like a 3 year hiatus).

Anyhow, I was having major sps rtn & issues and everybody was pointing me to Alk......So, I signed up for a year.....just to help me figure out my parems since I couldn't even get a test kit straight.

They were "ok", I feel my home testing with the kits I choose & how I test is more accurate.

here's a thread:

Andrew32 In this hobby $42 to ensure your water is correct is a small price to pay IMO. Thanks for the info folks. :)

Darren, they don't truly do any lab tests. They simply use aqua-medic test kits to test your water and put it in a fancy graph; you can do that at home!

I agree! at the time I was going insane, and they found my problem when my test kits couldn't; it was phosphates!

It worked for me at the time, however, I feel now that I can test better with what I have with my kits...so be it.

I had been involved in an unusable issue with test kits that were extremely inferior at the time. Again, they will test your water for you, it will be as accurate as hobby test kits....so, be wary, but be aware........Calcium was always off on their testing, but that was years ago....

I have used it several times. I hate testing; absolutely hate it. It was nice to see all the results a week or so after sending in the samples. I agree that you can get the same results by testing at home, but I buy kits (other than ALK and Cal which I use every few weeks) only to have them expire. It's actually cheaper for me to use this service a few times per year.

Matt that is similar to my thinking. If I were to buy 2 of the kits (Salifert) it would cost = or close to it. Granted I get the test kit with many tests but to buy say even 10 of them would cost a pretty penny. I normally just test for ALK, Calcium, SG, and Mag. Just curious what the other readings would be.....
