I'm considering adding a 1" SCWD on my closed loop system.
Anyone have thoughts and experience with squids and is there anyone here have one they no longer use and want to get rid, are there any sponsor LFS that carry them

I had a 3/4" and really liked it on a 30 gallon. It gave about a 10 second period with a 500 gph pump. Not sure about the larger model though.

I have a 1" on my system and you really need to have some good return flow for them to make any significant difference. My return flow is only about 750GHP and I have two corner returns and a lower middle return. I'm still not sure the SCWD even does anything!

Does it alternate the flow from one outlet to the next?

Only on the two top right ones. The lower middle is T'd off separate before the SCWD. So acutally, the flow may be less if you consider all outlets. Honestly, the flow from my returns is so subtle it's hard to tell. I have two Tunze nanos breaking surface tension and dual vortechs for flow though.

Ps. The bottom return is on a line with THREE check valves!
