Well Water and RO/DI unit

How many stages are needed for a RO/DI unit for a well. Have read that 4 is enough and been told to get as many as 7. Getting ready to build a 120 Gallon tank and setting up the basics now.

realistically its impossible to tell what you need without figuring out what is in your water so the more diffrent stages the better but i would say 4 stages would serve you just fine. have a good sediment filter in the first stage, a low micron carbon block in the second (like .5), ro membrane in the third and di resin in the fourth. make sure there is adequate pressure going through the system or youll be sending a lot of water down the drain
