What do you keep your temp at?

I just got a controller and wanted to know to set the temp at 80 or 81? I have a reef tank and been keeping it at 80 for a wile till my heater gave out. Just wanted to get everyones opinion there a couple clowns, flame angel and a cardinal. Thx for the help

my answer...whatever you can keep stable. honestly there is a decent range to use but it must be stable.

I don't keep my tank at a temp. It does it on it's own. LOL Always is at 82. I have heaters but I couldn't say if they have ever run. They are there as a safety incase we have a really cold night.

Whoa! What kind of corals are you keeping? Do they grow fast?

Softies, LPS and SPS. Never had a problem with growth/coloration etc. Fish seem quite happy.

I never really put much thought into it. When I first started in the hobby that was the temp that was referred. Never looked back. I guess I ask myself all the corals that are way below on the ocean floor or on an old wrecked ship...what temp is it at that point?

I may try to raise it a couple degrees to see what happens..now I am curious.

Yep... and you can also see where one of my heaters quit working!
