I want to build the ARC take anywhere toolbox. So I will start with the tools I think should be in. Feel free to chime in add your own or change a tool out. When we get done, I will put the contents and where to find them in a single post for others to duplicate.

The rules are pretty simple. No expensive tools. I want to keep the entire kit under $200. Tools have to be small and portable. This precludes most electrical devices but if one is deemed worthy (such as a flashlight) it will be included. The toolkit should include most items necessary for a quick repair, fragging or adding a common item onto a tank. Supplies should be included such as super glue and razor blades.

Smart Idea! I dont think that there really isnt anything to add. What exactly do you want to be in it. I could see adding a refractometer. That is expensive though.

I would like a clamp, http://cgi.ebay.com/12-Kelly-Hemostat-Forceps-Surgical-Dental-Instruments_W0QQitemZ180190546476QQihZ008QQcategoryZ19327QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">like this one </a>for pulling algea (hair and bubble, ftagging acros, etc.

An electical tester [IMG]http://cgi.ebay.com/400-030-Electrical-Receptacle-Tester-for-GFCI-Outlets_W0QQitemZ180189641992QQihZ008QQcategoryZ42291QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">like this one </a>to verify circuits are wired correctly and GFCI circuits work and are powered on.

Cheap powerhead, for emergencies.

Refractometer and test kits already mentioned.

of course a dremel tool, extra bulkheads, extra locline stuff, PVC cement,

Test Kits/Temp/Refractometer - Hmmm, this is something you would likely carry along or have around but not sure it belongs in the toolbucket as a perm fixture. May have to add a seperate optional test section. Refractometer and temp falls into this section as well I believe.

Dremel Tool - I am on the fence on this one. They are handy but not usually needed in most every day kind of scenarios. What does everyone else think?

Bulkheads/Locline/PVC - Those all go into a seperate job section I think. If I am going to handle a plumbing problem I am bringing along a host of stuff I wouldn't put in my everyday tool kit. I just have never needed a bulkhead out of the blue nor lockline. I like to think of this as the emergency survival reef kit/everyday toolbox kinda thing.

In addition to some of the items that you already have I always keep a set of measuring spoons/ cups and a graduated cylinder. These items I would classify under the optional test kit section. I keep all of my testing equipment in a plastic tool box so it can go anywhere, anytime. As part of the tool box section you always need the ever so handy; toothbrush.

Toothbrush - Already on the list

Weldon 4 and 16 and some small pieces of acrylic, for those quick fixes or emergency patches

Bridal Veil - What is it used for?

Towels - That is sepearte from the toolkit. They are necesarry, but don't really consider them a tool or supply.

Tongs - Handy sometimes but necessary... hmmm... will add to my consider list.

Air pump is situational to me. I have never actually needed one.

Dental tools that you can get free from your dentist. Great for scraping, grabbing, pulling and other delicate uses.

I didn't see bottle opener on the list.

Seriously, is tubing on the list somewhere? Like airline?

Dental Tools - Already have most of the standard dental tools listed. Any that I missed?

Bottle Opener - Aside from the beer Chrisjet drinks when he is working on his tank, what do you need this for?

Obviously for micro-brews.

How about wire ties and wire clips (whatever those screw on clips for wires are called).

Sorry, I meant wire nuts.

Zip ties are on there. I could add mounting cable zip ties. Those are pretty handy.

What do you fellows think of adding a small rechargable drill?

Yes on the drill.

I meant wire nuts, not zip ties. Useful for splicing wire together for a fan or lights.
