What is this

This has started growing pretty fast on my rocks. It's like a leather coral of some type. It's growing along like roots that are now coming to a head.

Sponges... They will only grow in the shade. Die in the light...

Ok now I feel like an idiot. I tried to find that post and couldn't. I thought maybe I didn't hit the submit button. I didn't get any email alerts either???
