What is this?

Moved a rock from the sump to the display and this guy fell off. He buried himself before I could pull him out. I guess you can't upload videos. It was about 3mm wide and had tons of little tiny red tentacle looking things. The body was black with a grey stripe

Sounds like a bristleworm, perhaps? Picture would be helpful.

We were posting at the same time. Spaghetti worm, methinks.

I know this is an old post but I found him munching on a mysis shrimp and pulled him out. This is what he looks like. It was around 2" long

Kinda hard to tell from that 2nd picture. I would agree with Jenn... looking like a spaghetti worm.

You can treat them like bristle worms. Not really harmful. The are pretty good sand shifters and munch on things in detritus. Seems most people just let them be as long as there aren't too many. Their population is entirely dependent on the food source in your sand and rock. So people with dirty sand can get big populations similar to bristle worms. Have heard some complaints they can cause problems with zoa rocks.
