I put a light in my sump to start growing sooner macro algae, but before I got any all my rubble turned green from green algae. Any suggestions on removing it? I already turned off the lights....

If you don't have any macro algae in there right now, just leave the light off it would slowly go away.

Well my cheap Chinese grow light died.... So it's off for good right now.

But when I do get some macro won't the green algae just come right back?

I believe that in theory, the macro out competes the micro algae. Plus the macro should shade the rocks (I am guessing).

That's what the macro is suppose to prevent, it should out compete for the same nutrients the green hair algae needs to grow.

Cool thanks got the info.

Now to find a better grow lamp....

You don't need to get fancy with a grow light, a 65k bulb for Home Depot and you would be good.

I was using one of these
Xen-Lux Dual-Band LED Hydroponic Grow Light Panel - Red/Blue - 20 Watt 42 F10 LEDs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GC2KEZ6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_guXewbY46483S">https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GC2KEZ6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_guXewbY46483S</a>

Which I've had good luck with aquaponics but I guess the salt water was just too much for it.
