Its time for me to decide between the Neptune cor-20 and the Vectra m2. I have both Neptune and Ecotech gear. My tank gets wet in less than a month and I have to decide. The Neptune offers integration and control with the Apex but can I not get the same thing with the Vectra and Mobius? Please help.

I agree with Wake. You seldom ever need to change the flow on a return pump and you can turn the pump on and off by plugging it into a EB. Spend the excess money somewhere else in your build. If you were doing a closed loop or something like that then a controllable pump might be worth it.

Actually, I really want to do a closed loop just for my UV sterilizer but I'm afraid to drill my tank. Plus I would need help. But I figured since I have an oversized sterilizer I could alternate the flow to do algae/pest control with a controllable pump should the need arise. My gear is split between Neptune and Ecotech. Not really wanting to add randoms. Thanks for the advice.

A close loop for the UV into the display or sump? I ran a pump for my UV through the sump.

I have my UV on a separate pump that goes from the sump back into the sump. I dont know if that is the "right" way to do it but i has worked for me so far since ive gotten it.
