what skimmer for a 120g

trying to make a list of what i need for my next build .i figured first i search for a skimmer. i had an octopus 150 on my 30 gallon and loved it. any one with a bigger tank got any ideas. lookingfor best bang for my buck.

Mark, I'd be real tempted to go with the MSX 200 on a 120. Or a comparable Octopus. The biggest question is what kind of sump? My AM g2 pushes the limits of my sump, so if I went bigger I'd probably have to rebaffle my sump.

What type of tank? If SPS and you like to more then enough skimmer I say.

MSX 200 or 250 or octo extreme if you do not mind running a mesh wheel.

Maybe one other option 250s in sump with a Laguna Askoll pump or the recirculating 125r. Coralvue has a version of the 250 but only cnc has the recirculating 125r.

I can't vouch for CnC but luke33 from reef central is part of it.

And if Raj would come out with the details then maybe the ocean force. Secrets don't make friends.:)

I also recommend that skimmer and buy it from those guys in the link if you do. Their customer service will blow you away. They dumped quite a bit of their own cash to get us our skimmers before anyone else. They also sent me two mesh impellers and the flexible needlewheel impeller. Although you can request they just send you mesh and you can do the mod yourself.

Of course I'm a lil prejudiced as I'm subconsciously trying to justify my purchase... but who doesn't do that? :) As such, I recommend you come see it my tank for yourself. It creates the tiniest uniform bubbles and creates the thickest column of bubbles I've seen to date in any skimmer.

not sure what sump im going with. any ideas? the tank will be mixed mostly lps and sps .should have alot of room under the stand for what ever. heres the tank im getting.

Just an FYI, I saw the newly updated MRC Oceanforce at MACNA and it now has the tapered neck. I'm really happy with mine now that I got it tuned correctly (thanks Jeremy and Danny).
